Stand-alone game, and also an expansion set, for the original Dixit game.
One player is the storyteller for the turn and looks at the images on their cards in hand and says a word or words out loud (without showing the card to the other players). Each other player selects the card in their hands which best matches what was said and gives the selected card to the storyteller, without showing it to the others. The cards (including the storyteller’s) are shuffled together and then the pictures are shown face up. Each player then votes on which picture they think was the storyteller’s.
If the storyteller was too obvious or cryptic and everyone or no-one guesses correctly, they get no points. If you are not the storyteller, you get points for choosing the storyteller’s card, and also bonus points for laying a card that tricks someone into voting for your card. The cards all have unique fairytale-style images and the box includes a game board and rabbit counting tokens. Better watched than explained – see the original version of the game being played below on Tabletop, and a Board Game Family explanation of the Odyssey version here. This version of Dixit can handle up to 12 players, a game takes about 45 minutes, for age 8 and up.
