Set of 14 (12 plus two spares) wooden Crokinole discs in a choice of colours. 30mm diameter discs.
Crokinole is a game that became established in Canada in the 1800s, in which players take turns flicking disks on a board, trying to score points by landing in the central pocket or surrounding circles. The main rule is that contact with the other teams’ pieces must be made in order for the disk to remain on the board afterwards. If the opponent has no discs on the board then you are free to aim directly for the centre. Although the game uses quite a bit of skill to flick the disks, there’s a very significant strategy element to the game. Sometimes a skilful, correctly angled flick will contact your opponent’s disc, send it into the ditch (the out-of-play area around the edge of the board), and send your own one into the centre!
